There is only a little left until the traditional competition for children and young generation will be held in Madona: the Micro-Mini-Junior festival. The competition program also includes historic karting and veteran competitions. The registration of participants has been extended until 02.07.2023.

There will take place a Micro-Mini-Junior festival also in 2023. This year, the first competition was held and, as already mentioned, a new tradition is being started. The competitions planned for 2023 will be even more exciting and of higher quality.

Already on this weekend 10.07. - 11.07., with a very small distance from the previous competition, we will meet in Smiltene, Tepera track to complete the 2nd stages in Pro-Kart, Latvian Championship and Rotax Challenge Cup. Karting track for training is open already from Sunday 05.07. and available throughout the week, until the day of the competition.

Over the weekend, at the Sporta Komplekss 333 karting tracks provoked karting and hot emotions. 132 participants from Latvia, as well as from Lithuania and Estonia took part in the start of this race. The athletes' eyes were really longing for the real emotions of speed and the spirit of competition. The air temperature did not allow anyone to relax either, as it kept within almost 30 degrees throughout the day. It should be noted that the stage was still marked by social distancing, and the award system was adjusted and changed accordingly to prevent participants and teams from gathering. The opening parade and the usual ritual of greeting the competition did not take place in this competition either.

With the reduction of several restrictions on June 9, the state of emergency in Latvia, which had been in force since mid-March, was canceled, giving the green light that this season will not have to be delayed in the memories of the taste of competition, but all athletes from Latvia and the Baltic States on the track. We will spend the first and opening stage of the season on June 26. - 27.06. "Sporta Komplekss 333", when the Pro-Kart, Latvian Championship and Rotax Challenge Cup tests will take place. This is very positive news, which we hoped to expect, but before we go on the track and start the season, we must take into account the following information.

The state of emergency in the country continues until. June 9, but we are already hoping that official competitions will be allowed, but a number of significant changes and restrictions will have to be taken into account. The karting season will open on June 27, when we will meet at "Sporta Komplekss 333". We invite everyone to prepare and perform trainings in accordance with the law, as well as to get acquainted with the competition regulations, agenda and changes in a timetable.

According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Latvia, from May 12, 2020, it is allowed to organize sports trainings and individual classes, observing all conditions to ensure the safety and health of those involved. Trainings are allowed to be organized only accompanied by certified trainers and in groups not exceeding 25 people, of course, taking into account the distance between people, which is at least 2m.

Most of Europe, as well as Latvia, has been taken over by the Covid-19 pandemic wave for almost two months, followed by countless bans and a state of emergency in the country for human safety. Unfortunately, this pandemic, which has taken over Latvia, is severely affecting and does not completely differentiate all sectors, including sports. Taking into account that the state of emergency in Latvia was extended until 12 May 2020, the fate of the first stages of the season and other security measures were decided at the meeting of the LAF Karting Commission on April 15.
